Hampton Court House

Hampton Court House presents the works of 70 Russian artists in association with Salon Russe. November’s exhibition will focus on works by Alexey Adamov, Igor Mihalenko and Sergey Fedotov, and coincides with Salon Russe’s "Four Weeks of Contemporary Russian Art in London".

“Knowing Alexey Adamov" is task better suited for a lifetime researcher,as true artists are always in search of something deep, walking an intricate road in life. After all, life is neither a bed filed with rose buds, nor a rose bed without horns. Quite naturally, one can disagree with the artist's point of view, though an instinct prompts one to agree with Adamov's painting.

Contemplating the charming beauty of nature with Alexey we are invited into his world of blissful thinking. Stepping onto the deck of his boat we sail to a place where we can visualize momentum of human life. Fusing the joys & attrition of life that stimulate emotions seldom experienced, enriching the divine gift of aesthetic vision...”

Sergey Fdotov and Igor Michailenko differ in their artistic temperaments, painting techniques and their styles. However, their works shown together especially clearly display the various abilities of contemporary fine art. Fedotov is a direct and talented colourist, and his major element is a powerful expression of colour and form. Michailenko gives his preference to a strict expression of a verified/checked and contained line and sharp silhouette. Fedotov works with spaces and volumes, while Mihailenko uses surfaces and plains. Fedotov paints loosely and freely in the traditional genres of landscapes, still life and portraiture. Mihailenko thoughtfully and in detail develops his motives. These are different masters with different temperaments, technologies and techniques. Yet they both eventually produce paintings which adhere to the aesthetical and professional canons of art, which ensures they will always find a spectator. Both artists are well known in Russia. Their works are kept in museums and private collections in the country and abroad.

The Show can be seen by appointment with Anna Korganas (+ 44(0)7880 630876) from Monday to Sunday between 11am to 9pm.
