Petrova was born in 1971 Novoaltaysk, Altay Region of Russia. She graduated from Novoaltayskoe School of Arts in 1990.

Petrova is a member of the Professional Creative Union of Artists of Russia. The artist lives and works in the town of Kosterovo, Vladimir Region, since1996

At present Elena Petrova's works are on a display in the galleries New Century, Art Izba, Bagira,Zamoskvorechie and Dvoriansky style, Moscow
